Dr. Christopher Palmer is a Harvard psychiatrist and researcher renowned for his work at the intersection of metabolism and mental health. He earned his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine and completed his residency at McLean Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Palmer is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and also serves as the Founder and Director of the Metabolic and Mental Health Program at McLean Hospital, where he leads Postgraduate and Continuing Education. With a career spanning nearly 30 years, he has pioneered the use of the medical ketogenic diet to treat psychiatric disorders, proposing that mental illnesses can be understood as metabolic disorders of the brain. His acclaimed book, Brain Energy, presents a groundbreaking framework for mental health. Dr. Palmer’s research and clinical work continue to shape the future of psychiatric treatment, inspiring and transforming lives worldwide.
