Dr. David Henderson

Dr. David Henderson is a widely acclaimed economist, author, and educator renowned for making complex economic ideas accessible and engaging for broad audiences. He earned his B.Sc. from the University of Winnipeg before completing his M.A. and Ph.D. in economics at UCLA. Dr. Henderson served as senior economist for health and energy policy on President Ronald Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers from 1982 to 1984 and later became a longtime professor of economics at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, where he is now emeritus professor. Since 1990, he has been a Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. His research and writing focus on public policy, free markets, health economics, energy policy, taxation, and the unintended consequences of government intervention. A prolific author and editor, Dr. Henderson is best known for editing The Concise Encyclopedia of Economics and for his clear, thought-provoking teaching style that motivates students to think critically about economics and public policy.
