Dr. Robert O. Pihl is a groundbreaking psychologist and professor at McGill University, where he served as the graduate supervisor of Dr. Jordan B. Peterson. Known for his groundbreaking work in clinical psychology, psychopharmacology, and addiction research, Dr. Pihl earned his B.A. from Lawrence University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Arizona State University. Since 1979, he has been a professor of Psychology and Psychiatry at McGill, mentoring generations of scholars. With over 250 published papers and prestigious accolades, including the Canadian Psychological Association’s Gold Medal Award and the National Patient Safety Award, Dr. Pihl’s influential research has shaped our understanding of aggression, substance abuse, and mental health policy.
